Kate McDermott

I spent a year studying a full time masters in Environmental Management, as a commitment to changing my career. After I successfully completed the course, I was lucky enough to secure three months as an intern on LSx’s EcoVate program, which supports small businesses in becoming more environmentally and economically sustainable.

My time at LSx offered much more experience than just participating on the EcoVate program – such as building an environmental management system, events, funding, the dynamics of the third sector, and really friendly, positive and encouraging work colleagues! My experiences at LSx boosted my abilities and confidence, and directly influenced my getting the job I now have, as an Environmental Manager.

The work experience at LSx was serious, creative, and challenging. The staff offered advice, understanding, help, and inclusion at many levels. It was also a fun time, with great social features and opportunities! Highly recommended, thanks chaps!
