Benjamin Davies runs a number of successful social enterprises. Independent Shoreditch (Shoreditch Business Alliance) – is a social enterprise designed to promote and strengthen the local business community in Shoreditch, providing a collective, democratic voice and help the diverse range of independents thrive in this, probably the most creative part our capital and arguably, the UK.
Previously Ben was Head of Programmes and Policy and Company Secretary for the Heart of London Business Alliance, the partnership representing businesses and the major property owners in and around Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.
He had been with HoL since 2006 prior to taking steps to establish his own organisations in 2010. He helped the organisation win it’s second mandate in 2007 with 86% of businesses voting yes. In addition to his financial role, Ben also managed services, operations and campaigns undertaken by the Partnership and was successful in attracting additional funds for improvement/environmental projects.
Prior to his role at HoL, Ben was Partnerships Manager / Transport and Environment Project Manager at Central London Partnership. CLP acted as a facilitator and co-ordinator, bringing public and private partners together to achieve change to improve central London as a place to live, work, invest and visit. CLP progressed strategic schemes that were sub-regional in nature, delivering benefits across a wider area of central London and make best value use of resources through a consistent cross boundary approach.
