Head of Sustainability, Hammerson plc
Paul Edwards is the Head of Sustainability at Hammerson, a FTSE100 European property owner and developer. Hammerson are committed to embedding sustainability into their culture and so through their people and their projects. The results are already evident with two BREEAM Excellent certificates this year and the existing portfolio showing a 12% reduction in carbon and 9% in water. Hammerson are also delivering outstanding results in creating jobs and training for the unemployed and getting people back into work.
Prior to Hammerson Paul worked overseas for 10 years in Australia, USA and Asia, for Lend Lease and Arup. His projects in Australia won over 40 sustainability awards and delivered firsts in both 5-star ABGR and 5 Green-star As Built ratings.
Paul currently sits on the National Skills Academy board, Better Building Partnership board and is a member of several sustainability committees including BCO, BCSC, and UNEP FI.
