Welcome to the Jan/Feb issue of our bulletin and wishing you a clean, green and healthy 2007!  This year we are focussing on 'greening' London's takeaways and restaurants, letting Londoners know how they can help tackle climate change and turning a sustainable 2012 Games into a reality. We are also continuing our pioneering work with diverse communities across the capital.
Please do get in touch if you have comments or suggestions.

Fresh thinking on London policy

Should job creation in London put people first and profit second? How can we make new developments work better for the people who live there? These were two of the questions discussed at our policy seminars held in November 2006. We're aiming to take a fresh look at a range of policy issues affecting London now and in the future and have submitted our 2006 findings to the Mayor's London Plan review. Fingers crossed: it could be London

A new programme to help some of London's most deprived communities improve their well-being, could get the go-ahead if our bid to the Big Lottery Fund is approved. Well London is a joint project led by LSx, Central YMCA, Groundwork London and the London Health Commission. We are thrilled to have reached stage 2 of the Wellbeing Fund, and a final decision is due in the summer. Well London will take a community development approach, with local people deciding the priorities. For more information contact Gail Dinner / 020 7324 3691/ g.dinner@london.gov.uk.
