Climate change
is in the air Tube and bus advertising, festivals and events as well as multi-lingual activities such as storytelling and drama will all play a part in LSx's projects designed to boost understanding of climate change across London. We're working on a pan-London project with the GLA and with South Asian communities to deliver the message that 'together this generation will tackle climate change'. H20 Summer festivals, workshops and special women and youth events will form part of our project to encourage the Hindu community to save water and adopt greener lifestyles. We're working with Thames Water to test how effective faith beliefs could be in encouraging Londoners to lead more eco-friendly lifestyles, specifically in reducing water consumption at home and in the workplace. Between now and late autumn we'll be showing restaurants, hotels and pubs how they can boost their reputation and their profits by going green. Olympics boss
sets out key milestones Target start and completion dates for Games venues, as well as the publication of the Olympic Delivery Authority's (ODA) procurement strategy for stakeholder consultation were recently announced. They were part of the next ten milestones in the programme to deliver the venues and infrastructure for the 2012 Games set out by David Higgins, chief executive of the ODA. |

needed in London if we are to tackle poverty Childcare provision in London needs urgent improvement if poverty rates and more support for children with special needs are to be tackled says a new report. The London Assembly's review of childcare says London has the highest rate of child poverty as well as the worst childcare facilities in the country and more needs to be done to address this. |

New toolkit
could save London's offices £730 milion Businesses in London can save money and cut office waste by using a free toolkit available from Envirowise. The Green Officiency CD-ROM provides a step-by-step guide to help office-based businesses reduce waste in common resources such as paper, water and energy. Savings can be as much as £200 per employee. |
