Enviro-Justice in action
Over the next 18 months, with partners London 21, we'll be empowering local  'Ambassadors', from the Mark's Gate estate in Barking and Dagenham and the Pepys estate in Lewisham, to address local environmental inequalities such as areas of poor air quality or accident spots. This builds on our 2004 Environmental Justice report. Results will be fed into local decision making across London. Contact Shalini Jayasinghe for more information on 020 7324 3650 / s.jayasinghe@lsx.org.uk .

Planning for a fairer London
LSx and London 21 are helping to make London a fairer place to live by increasing protection for vulnerable people. We were invited to provide recommendations on climate change for the revised London Plan - the Mayor's planning framework. Our evidence, informed by our Enviro-justice work, includes provision for the impacts of climate change on the elderly. We also supported Mayoral targets on energy saving and cleaner souces in new developments. For more details contact Jane Mulholland on 020 7324 3656/ j.mulholland@lsx.org.uk.
