Become a climate change local hero

If so, you could be one of our team of paid, part time ambassadors working to shift attitudes to climate change in Redbridge, Croydon, Ealing or Brent. Half-term hang-out is 'green' fun for all

Reward green colleges says report
Rewarding green practices in colleges through Ofsted inspections is one of the key recommendations in a new report by LSx and the Learning and Skills Network (LSN). New green awards announced
Good design, engaging young people and skills development are some of the categories for new awards launched by the Academy for Sustainable Communities. LSx's Director, Samantha Heath, will help judge the awards which will reward new ways to create greener, cleaner, more cohesive places to live and work. The deadline for entries is 9 January 2007. Greener, cleaner buses for London
Plans for a hybrid fleet of buses as part of a greener transport system were announced by the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone as he launched the first double-decker hybrid bus in the world. Hybrid engines mean that pollution from the buses can be cut by almost half, helping to cut carbon dioxide and tackle climate change. More

   
       
Thousands demand action on climate change
Over 25,000 people packed Trafalgar Square to demand that urgent action on tackling climate change. The I Count campaign on Saturday 4 November 2006 called for government to take "real political action in response to the millions of people worldwide already cutting their personal carbon counts." More
