Brief
This project engaged and educated pupils on the harm air pollution can have on the environment and health. This was done through actively involving pupils and parents across three schools in Richmond by doing citizen science experiments, surveys, mapping, and creating posters.
Following the results, LSx worked with pupils, parents and teachers so that that could create bespoke recommendations for each school to reduce the children’s exposure to pollution, and to reduce their emissions through everyday actions such as implementing safe cycling to school.
Following the project, results are to be discussed at PTA meetings to form a wider network; maps showing recommended park and stride/walk to school maps are to be refined and distributed; and air quality champions are to be encouraged to initiate change.
