Diverse London

Creating richer choices for all

London is one of the world's most diverse cities - over 300 languages are spoken in the capital, and almost a third (30%) of Londoners were born outside England (2.2m). A "one-size-fits-all" approach to encouraging people and businesses to take up sustainable consumption and production will not work.

Diverse London works in a number of ways:

• Through Demonstration projects such as our work with the Muslim community in London Borough Tower Hamlets and our work with the Hindu community in partnership with Thames Water
• Through our Sustainability Champions Network and our Diverse London Ambassadors
• Through a range of case studies and events aimed at the Business, Voluntary and Faith sectors in London.
• We offer a free brokering and facilitation service for Black, Asian and minority ethnic-led businesses to become more sustainable.

Diverse London is a three year project, which is being part funded through Defra's Environmental Action Fund.
