Action Learning Sets with LSx

It all started with a conversation in a coffee shop. The vision was to deliver a series of events to engage with the challenges of behaviour change and sustainability, and help professionals to explore different questions and new directions in project planning. We wanted to create a space for collective learning to unpick the theory and practice behind delivering successful, sustainable change.

LSx delivers Action Learning Sets with professionals from London's private, public and third sectors. Action Learning Sets are a part of learning by doing.  Following a tightly structured format LSx facilitates the sharing of experiences, highlights learning points and helps participants identify specific actions. It's about providing a space to work together to discuss real issues in an environment of respect and confidentiality, to come to practical solutions and learn from each other.

So what is Action Learning?

• A method aimed at supporting individual and organisational development
• Working on real-life problems, focusing on learning and actually implementing solutions
• Drawing on the knowledge and experience of a small group of people.
• Providing an opportunity for individuals to receive targeted support on particular difficulties they are facing, whilst using their knowledge to support others.

How does it work?

A set is made up of a series of three or four sessions across a period of a few months, bringing together a group of people from a given sector or area of expertise, to provide continuity and focus the group's learning on a particular set of issues they face. Occasionally we bring in guest experts to bring their experience and insight to inform the discussion.

What will I get out of it?

• Discuss issues of common concern with other professionals engaged in behaviour change interventions
