Energise London
Energise London aims to promote energy efficiency, use of renewable energy and water conservation across all 33 London Boroughs, piloting innovative behaviour change mechanisms such as social marketing. It is a four year project both supporting local authorities and promoting cross-sectoral collaboration: sharing knowledge and skills between private, public and third sector organisations to promote pro-environmental behaviours.
LSx has been awarded a grant from London Councils to run Energise London from 2008 to 2012. London Councils is committed to fighting for more resources for London and getting the best possible deal for London's 33 councils. London Councils has a website about its grants service. To read about the grants funding and the work of some of the 300 groups they support please visit www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/grants .
At the moment, Energise London is:

school governors to prepare them for the impact of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme on schools across London. Watch this space or join the Learner Network...
- Expanding its Learner Network to ensure that more people in London can exchange ideas, knowledge and experience and enable them to promote energy efficiency, water conservation and sustainability.

Recently we have:
-
Delivered a
pilot project in the London Borough of Wandsworth, working in a number of communities to promote pro-environmental behaviours through social marketing techniques. We trialled mechanisms such as participatory budgeting, champions of change and home audit kits.
-
Produced a toolkit called
Surround (Sustainability in the Round) that aims to help organisations deliver projects against a range of indicators and objectives and enable residents to enjoy better health, wealth and quality of life.
Energise London builds on LSx’s Motivate London project, which completed in June 2008. Learn more about what Motivate London achieved.
