Most Londoners are aware of climate change, but there is considerable confusion about the impacts on our city, and whether anything we do as Londoners can make a difference.
We aim to increase understanding of climate change: that it is happening now, it is affecting London, and that we can all play our part to reduce its impacts.
An example of our work is theSouth Asian Communities Campaign.
The project reached over a million South Asian Londoners during 2007/8, and increased their understanding of the causes of climate change. 88% of those who we engaged directly through the project told us that their awareness and understanding of climate change increased as a result. The activities included:
-A team of ten "Community Ambassadors " working in London Boroughs of Redbridge, Croydon, Brent and Ealing
- A series of live arts performances at festivals and events by celebrated magician Aladin, to help motivate and engage people with the issue of climate change.
- A PR campaign through South Asian Media. For examples of articles see LSx in the News
