Event Summary This event attracted a large group of participants, mostly students,
November 7th 2008, 14.00 - 17.00
The Building Centre, Store Street, WC1E 7BT
to examine and discuss the Mayor of London's recently released update to the London Plan. After a brief introduction from the chair of the event Karen Mecz, a recent LSTS intern now working as Project Coordinator for Creative Environmental Networks, the delegates heard from our two speakers. Firstly Professor Tony Day of London South Bank University spoke on 'Integrating Sustainable Development Into Your Career' before Andrew Tucker, Principal Policy Officer for Climate Change Adaptation at the Greater London Authority addressed the group on 'Planning for Climate Change: Opportunities for Success'.
Following the two speakers the delegates broke into small groups to discuss aspects of the strategy such as:
After the breakout session, each group had an opportunity to relay the results of their dialogue to the wider assembly for further discussion. The ideas were collated and incorporated by LSx into a response to the plan, which has been returned to the Mayor for his consideration.
