Summary Performances are given both to the general public, in conjunction with community festivals and sustainability events (such as Sustainable Energy Action’s Energy Efficiency Week), and through workshops in London primary schools. Funding for the projects is provided by Lambeth Endowed Charities and the Bridge House Trust. Audience members are invited to pledge to undertake sustainable actions after the performances. Feedback indicates that audience members who stay through the entire programme leave feeling motivated and inspired about the role they can play in combating environmental problems. The use of professional actors is a key element of the project, providing a fun and inspiring component rather than just information on environmental problems. Barriers identified include: securing funding; attracting and retaining an audience at public festivals; sustainability and global warming education are often low priorities in school curricula.
Save Our World has partnered with the theatrical organisation The Lions Part to produce an environmentally themed Roadshow. The show features a play about global warming and presentations on practical steps for reducing its effects.
