London and Quadrant housing residents can now get on-site top tips on saving energy and water and cutting waste from their own neighbours. In partnership with the L&Q group and Thames Water, LSx ran a series of workshops and established a network of Green Champions who are leading on initiatives to promote greener lifestyles – starting with their own neighbours! Background
Aims
The aim of the project is to encourage and support L&Q residents to take up greener lifestyles through peer to peer activities.
Many people in London have the skills, determination, and established social networks to effectively promote long term behaviour change, and with training and guidance our champions have wasted no time in spreading the message.
Champions
The Champions are nearly all L&Q residents and are keen to spread the word on how their friends and neighbours can live cleaner, greener lifestyles and save money at the same time.
Champions training
The Green Champions have been trained in:
Champions activities
Following training, Champions are making contact with L&Q neighbours, armed with tips on how to reduce energy consumption (and bills), suggestions on conserving water, as well as motivational 'goodies'.
They arrange activities and gatherings to promote greener lifestyles as well as door knocking.
