Transform

The Transform project is helping Londoners revamp green spaces, reduce their waste and get connected to their communities.

A key partnership initiative within LOCOG’s Changing Places programme, Transform uses the Olympics as a hook to encourage sustainability in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich. London Sustainability Exchange has joined forces with Groundwork London to help communicate environmental messages and monitor and evaluate behaviour change within the project.

The project began in December 2010 and runs until December 2013. So far:

  • Eighteen sites have begun their transformation
  • 1270 volunteers have taken part, from seven to 70 years old
  • Match funding has been secured from SITA Trust to expand capital works across 20 new London sites, reaching a further 4000 individuals.*

 You can get involved:

  • As a business
  • As a sponsor or supplier to London 2012
  • As a resident of an Olympic borough.

If you are a business, please contact Sumi Ejiri on s.ejiri@lsx.org.uk 0207 234 9407 for more information.

If you are a resident of an Olympic borough interested in taking part, please contact Rosie Hardicker on rosie.hardicker@groundwork.org.uk or 020 8510 5418.
